2018 “Champu” Cap Classique

Kay & Monty Champu 2017

Our 2018 Champu is an unwooded Chardonnay blanc de blanc, made in the traditional French Méthode Cap Classique and spending 60 months on the lees before being released in December 2024.

Appearance: Light straw in colour
Nose: Fresh, floral lime nose with notes of apple

2023 “Pretty Polly” Rosé

Named for our CEO – in integral member of both the Legh and Rare Earth families – this is a limited release of our second vintage. Despite a very challenging growing season, this year’s harvest yielded 3,800 bottles of this delicious blend.

Blend: 59% Shiraz, 21% Grenache, 10% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir
Appearance:
Blush pink
Nose: Turkish delight & strawberries with nuances of rose petals
Taste: A smooth, velvety mouth feel well balanced acidity and a fresh raspberry finish. With only 11.5% alcohol, this the perfect light summer drink.

2020 “Sav” Sauvignon Blanc

Kay & Monty Sav 2020

Bottled in August 2020 but only released in 2022, we allow our Sav vintages time to age for a couple of years to give the acidity time to soften and create a more balanced flavour profile.

Appearance: Pale straw
Nose: A sweet nose of elderflower, white pear and gooseberries
Taste: Well-balanced with integrated acidity. Fresh and full mouthfeel.

2021 “The Chick” SMG

The Chick – our first red vintage produced from the farm’s maiden harvest of Shiraz, Mourvèdre and Grenache – is dedicated to the memory of John ‘Chick’ Legh, the founder of Rare Earth Retreats.

Blend: 57% Shiraz, 27% Mourvèdre and 16% Grenache
Appearance: Ruby red
Nose: Spicy nose of white pepper, all spice & nutmeg with dark red plums & cherries
Taste: Medium bodied with textured tannins, fresh acidity and an elegant finish
